Revitalizing the Church

One of the greatest dangers in church revitalization is to deny that problems and challenges exist. If you don’t admit the problem, you can’t apply the solutions.

Facts about revitalizing the church:

1. Prayer is revitalization. Zech 4:6.
2. - 9 out of 10 churches are in decline.
3. Over 4,000 churches close every year.
4. - 50,000 churches look for a pastor each year.
5. We have what it takes to revitalize!
6. Mostly it takes faith, time, and effort.
7. It takes putting the needs of the church above our own.
8. No church turns around until it seeks to make a difference in its community.
9. It takes church leaders and members to look in mirror. What must I do to change?
10. It takes breaking out of our holy huddles to share the Gospel with people.
11. It takes faith in God to do the impossible.

Church revitalization and our church purpose statement is grounded in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. To not carry out Christ’s mandate is disobedience.

Hindrances to revitalizing our church:

8. Lack of leadership, action, or direction.
9. Thinking or expecting change to happen quickly. 3 steps forward, 2 steps back.
