It’s time to get moving with God

“For this reason, I kneel before the Father 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. 16 I pray that He may grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power in the inner man through His Spirit, …Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us” – Eph. 3:14-16, 20.

As a church we believe that the Lord can do exceeding abundantly above all you can ask or think: according to the power that works within you.

We don’t believe we are a perfect church, but we do believe we are a Bible believing, caring people, praying people, holiness people, people who love God, people who want to grow together, and we long to reach out to others to share the love of Christ with them. That is our mission.

We want to see people saved. We want to see lives filled with God, filled with His Spirit, filled with hope, peace, joy, and filled with God’s Word.

Not filled with the latest pop culture ideas, not filled with the latest methods of the world to try to get you to be healthy and wealthy, not filled with some self-help message that doesn’t come close to the Gospel that won’t save anybody. No, instead, filled with the living God!

Can you imagine what would happen if every person who walked through our doors, were actually living examples of Ephesians 3:20? Can you imagine the impact of our church?

I always think of this passage like it’s a car. It doesn't do you any good to know everything about a car, unless you put the key in the ignition and start the engine.

You can know everything about God, about church, about religion, about ministry, about life, and about the Bible, but unless you have the power and apply and use that power, you ain’t going anywhere in your Christian life, you ain’t growing, and you ain’t making a difference in anybody’s life!

You can know a lot, but your car is still parked and hasn’t moved.

In Eph 3:14, we come to the ignition. It’s time to turn the key, it’s time to start your engine, it’s time to move past the knowledge, and start living what you know.

This is where the rubber hits the road. This is where you are applying what you know. But unfortunately, too many Christians understand their engine, they know what the race requires, but they don’t move their will to turn on the ignition.

Listen to what I’m about to say; there are times we need to stop the Bible study and start living the Bible study. Don’t hear me say, not to study the Bible. I said, there are Christians who study their Bible until they are blue in the face and that’s all they do, they never get to the application part.

They come to church and study the Bible, but once they leave church, they don’t apply what they just heard. They know a lot about their car, but their car never leaves the driveway spiritually.

There are a lot of people who know it all, but not many who function according to the power of Ephesians 3:20.

The reason a lot of Christians are not growing and not making a difference in this world and their community isn’t because they lack the power, and it’s not because they don’t have the knowledge about the car or the race, the reason is because they never turned the ignition. Their spiritual engine isn’t being started.

God’s power and God’s knowledge lives within them, yet they don’t put their faith into action, they don’t live what they know, they don’t progress in their faith, they don’t get out of the boat. It’s time to put our faith into action!

This is the reason for Paul’s prayer. What a tragedy it would be to never turn the ignition. You’re like a light that is being hidden. You’re like salt that has lost its favor. You’re like a church that has lost its first love. You’re like a super race car with an expert pit crew that hasn’t started his engine.

So, for this cause, Paul is praying, may that never be true in your life! There is so much power there, don’t waste it, sitting in the garage. For this cause, I bow my knee in prayer.

You are the habitation of God! Live like it!

We are more than conquerors! To think that you and I, a little piece of clay, have dwelling within us, the eternal triune God of the universe, yet live in fear, live in doubt, live in conflict, live in anger, live in self-centeredness, live in defeat, it makes no sense!

We have a heavenly Father who loves us and empowers us! We can come before our Father who is compassionate and accepting. And we can go into His presence with boldness and perserverance! Praise God!

It’s time to get moving with God! We can do great things for Him and for His glory! And He wants to do great things through us if we will step out in faith and rely on His power!

“It’s not by strength or by might, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD” -Zech 4:6.
